Increased grant amounts mean we need increased funding

Did you know that The Queen's Fund has now increased our maximum grant amount to help women in need from $350 to $400?

The costs for basic necessities such as food, housing, electricity and clothing have risen dramatically over the last 12 months* and having not increased our grant amount for some years, The Queen's Fund has decided that now was the right time to do so. We are confident that lifting the maximum amount to $400 will better support Victorian women and their children who are experiencing cost of living pressures.

However, if we are to support the same number of women each year with our higher grant amounts, we need extra funding. In fact, we would love to be able to increase the number of women we are able to support in 2023 as we have seen a significant uptick in applications in the last few months, as more Victorian women feel the bite of cost of living pressures.

That is where you, our wonderful supporters, come in! Please consider whether you are able to increase your donation amount or make a new donation to support women in crisis in Victoria this winter.

100% of your donation will go to helping Victorian women and their children.

For your continued support, we say thank you!

*The ABS has reported that the Living Cost Index (which measures the price change of goods and services and its effect on living expenses) rose between 7.3% and 9.3% between December 2021 and December 2022 for all household types - the largest annual rise on record.
