Celebrating Women's Health Week

From September 4th to 8th 2023, Women’s Health Week takes centre stage across Australia to shed light on the unique health needs of women.

Unfortunately, often life circumstances are obstacles for women in vulnerable situations to look after themselves and/or being able to afford required medical treatments. Sadly, this is something we see very frequently at The Queen's Fund, last year alone we assisted 186 women with medical requests, granting a total of $60,578.

Last month, we were deeply touched by the story of a single woman in her mid 70s who was estranged from her family and was battling multiple medical conditions that required ongoing medication. She recently had to pay for urgent dental treatment which meant she was left without funds for her prescriptions. The Queen’s Fund granted the requested amount of $362.22 to pay the pharmacy invoice which meant she could get her much needed medicine and keep on top of her medical issues.
